Our Boathouse is located in a really unique site, right on the River Avon but with the Kennet & Avon Canal running almost over our heads. This means you can jump straight on the river from our pontoon or walk up a set of stairs and launch onto the Canal.
No other riverside hire location (that we know of) can you paddle in 4 different directions, meaning even the least adventurouscan visit us 4 times before even considering getting bored.
For the more adventurous amongst us, you can actually loop the the canal and river together for a horseshoe paddle. This is one of our most popular hire sessions and means you can keep traveling forwards on your adventure and still end up back at our boathouse.
Launching on the Canal at Dundas Aqueduct, you paddle 4k to the Avoncliff Aqueduct where you can egress; either stopping for lunch at the Cross Guns Pub or jumping straight back on the River for the 5K paddle back down to Dundas.
This loop takes intermediate paddlers about 2.5 hours each way and does involved navigating a slow flowing weir.
Although there is a limited amount of free parking on the A36 Warminster Rd, there is a locally owned carpark called Brass Knocker Basin Carpark which is the closest place to park.
