The aim of the Delivery Partner Awards is to identify and celebrate the achievements and examples of good practice across the Delivery Partnerships, including those who exemplify British Canoeing's values and the Delivery Partner Charter.
Our 'Pick & Paddle' initiative led the way. This unique programme invites everyone to exchange a bag of litter for free watersports hire, in turn offering people of any age, background, or financial position access to the water, free of charge. As far as we are aware, we are the only provider to offer such a service.
Although it’s not uncommon for companies to offer a free session a year for an organised litter pick, what makes us different is we don’t do it for media attention. There are no flashy videos or TikToks where we use it to promote ourselves. We don’t have time limits or set times; you don’t need to prebook, you can simply turn up and borrow our Big Paddle Clean Up equipment to collect a bag of litter from our woodlands or waterways. In return, enjoy an hour on our kayaks or paddleboards on us.
