We offer disabled changing facilities and have installed the latest accessibility ramp and pontoon, known as The EZ launch to facilitate easy access to the water.
However, we do advise that the hill leading to our boathouse is quite steep, which some individuals may find challenging. If you anticipate difficulties with the slope, please get in touch with us in advance. We can arrange for parking closer to the reservoir, reducing the need to navigate the steep hill.

Yes, you're absolutely welcome to launch your own craft at Swiss Valley. We not only allow it, but strongly encourage it. To help protect our reservoir, we provide a designated area for washing your watersports equipment. This is a key measure in our biosecurity plan to prevent the spread of foreign species.
Please make sure to use these washing facilities before and after your paddle, your help is essential in preserving the natural beauty of our rivers, lakes, and coastal zones throughout Wales.
In addition to this, feel free to use our other facilities, which include changing rooms, lockers, spare equipment, dunk station to wash down your wet suit/PFD'S (buyonacy aid or life jacket) and refreshments. Any necessities you may have overlooked can be found at the Reservoir View.
Please note that there's a daily launching/landing fee of £5. Your support goes towards maintaining these facilities, keeping the area litter free and continues our preservation efforts.
Please note* All watersports users are required to wear a buoyancy aid and have a whistle whilst on the Lower Lliedi Resevroir.
We're excited to say that lessons and kids clubs are on the horizon! We're currently settling into our new space and once we've found our footing, we'll be introducing these offerings.
If you've enjoyed your hire session and are keen to take your paddlesports experience to the next level, don't hesitate to chat with our staff. They'll be more than happy to provide you with the latest updates and details on our upcoming programmes!
While we are not opposed to other providers utilising our space, it's important to note that we grant permissions on a case-by-case basis.
Any interested parties must contact us a minimum of 48 hours in advance.
We charge a fee of £5 per person on the water (waived for non-profits), which includes both the instructor and participants.
Please contact us directly to discuss this further.
Indeed, we do have a shop on-site. Here, you can purchase a variety of items and hire equipment as per your needs.
Our offerings include:
Whether you're looking for a quick snack or the right equipment for your water activities, we've got you covered!
Absolutely, we do!
We currently provide toilet and simple changing room facilities for your convenience. We're also planning to introduce a shower facility soon. In addition, we're dedicated to inclusivity and therefore offer a separate changing room and toilet designed for disabled access. It's our aim to ensure that all our guests have a comfortable and accommodating experience with us.
We offer 24 wire mesh lockers available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. If needed, you can rent a locker from us for a fee of £1, with a refundable deposit of £5. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any items left in the lockers or elsewhere on our premises.
We encourage all our visitors to ensure the safety of their belongings.
In a way you can! We're all about doing our bit for the environment! To help keep our waterways clean, we provide mesh bags for participants to collect rubbish during their outing. If you return a full bag of river litter, we'll reward you with a free hire.
In other words, the more you collect, the more you save – we'll match the percentage discount to the percentage of the bag you fill.
1 full bag = 1 free hire
Please bear in mind, only genuine river litter counts – we can tell the difference between actual rubbish and any leftover snacks from your paddle session! So, let's work together to protect our rivers.
The aim of the game is to not fall in the water, however this can happen; especially on paddleboards and kayaks! So wear anything you are comfortable getting wet and potentially swimming in.
Yes, wearing a buoyancy aid is a must at all times during any session with LiveFree Adventures, whether you are participating in our activities or launching your own craft. We provide all our customers with a buoyancy aid and require them to wear it throughout their time on the water.
Ensuring the safety of our guests is our highest priority. Therefore, no one will be permitted to enter the water without a correctly fitted buoyancy aid.
Please note that fees will be charged for any lost or damaged equipment. These fees include an administrative charge to cover the time taken for the replacement process. The charges for individual items are as follows:
We kindly ask that all equipment is returned in the same condition as it was when hired to avoid these additional charges.
Our vision for the Swiss Valley extends beyond our business operations. We plan to collaborate with the local council, various community groups, local residents, and other stakeholders to transform the Swiss Valley into a vibrant hub for a variety of activities.
In this spirit, if any local groups believe they could benefit from using our space at the Swiss Valley, we encourage you to contact us. We are open to facilitating other operators or supporting community development initiatives.
Here's a brief outline of our three-year plan:
Year 1: We aim to offer watersports hire and lessons, and introduce Axe Throwing and Archery sessions. We will also start developing the activities hub building, form litter picking teams to maintain the cleanliness of the area, and offer yoga sessions to promote wellness.
Year 2: We plan to install a free orienteering course, offer rowing boat hire, develop a forest school and outdoor education area, and design mountain bike trails.
Year 3: We look forward to constructing the mountain bike trails and offering mountain bike hire and lessons. We also plan to develop a swimming area, which we might even bring forward if circumstances permit.
Remember, we are always open to suggestions that would enhance the Swiss Valley. Please feel free to share any ideas, and we'll do our best to implement them.
We're sorry, but at the moment, swimming isn't permitted at Swiss Valley. The Lliedi Reservoirs are operational reservoirs managed by Welsh Water, which currently prohibits swimming.
However, as avid wild swimmers and watersports enthusiasts ourselves, we truly understand the appeal and benefits of open water swimming. That's why we're actively working with Llanelli Rural Council and Welsh Water to establish the reservoir as an open water swimming venue. This is high on our agenda, and we're committed to making it happen in the medium term.
In the meantime, we ask that individuals respect these regulations and avoid trespassing on the site to access the water. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and helps us maintain a positive relationship with the local authorities as we work towards our goal.
Thank you for your understanding.
At LiveFree Adventures, we prioritise the safety and enjoyment of our participants. Therefore, we closely monitor weather conditions and may have to cancel sessions if we believe conditions could affect the safety or quality of the experience.
In the event of a cancellation due to adverse weather, we will not issue a refund. Instead, we will offer a credit equivalent to the value of the cancelled session. This credit can be applied towards any of our adventure activities, private sessions, or special events within the same calendar year. Please note, we will always make every effort to reschedule the session within our 6-week summer operating period first. If rescheduling is not possible, the credit option will be provided.
This way, we ensure that even if Mother Nature doesn't cooperate, you still have the opportunity to enjoy the exciting experiences LiveFree Adventures has to offer.
Not only do we offer hire for your adventures, we also hire equipment for your event.
